The year is 1998 , I am a 13 year old kid looking for the meaning of life and watching a documentary about Bjork and the recording process of her incredible album “Homogenic”. For me, until that moment Bjork was the interesting and even bizarre musician that makes it really hard to categorize her or decide if you like all her quirks .

The film manages to fascinate me and gets me stuck in front of the screen. The movie shows how Bjork decides to record hot and exploding geysers in Iceland and use them as beats on the album that is influenced by the surrounding nature and the sounds in the world and I’m starting to fall in love with her and finally understand how genius she is. Then the movie comes to its end and in the ending titles th play the song “Joga” – I listen to the words, the sounds, the beats and Bjork ‘s voice almost breaking and crying itself out and something inside me completely brakes and shutters to pieces and I know that things will not return to the way they were after hearing this song. She manages to catch all the things that I felt then and I feel ever since in one amazing and breath-taking song. “Joga” is an example of a masterpiece songs and the craft of writing music and poetry and especially of emotion.

When I decided that it was time to fulfill another dream in the form of another “COVER ME ” night entirely dedicated to Bjork I knew that this song should receive emphasis, it is ultimately responsible for the emotional and musical changes in me . How lucky I was that Yael Shoshana Cohen & Gil Landau A.K.A. LolaMarsh felt just like me and have made one of the most beautiful covers in the world and got me excited again like it was the first time I hear this song .

Now it’s your turn to get emotional…
